Relationship with "Bioneers"

Eco-Metropolis borrows from the model of the much larger, highly successful national "Bioneers" conclave, which takes place in San Rafael, California, annually and has for 15 years been the nation's leading and most diverse cross-disciplinary independent eco-conclave, bringing together some of the leading doers and thinkers from a wide range of fields: environmental and socio-political activism; "green" biology, science, design and architecture; organic farming and gardening; indigenous perspectives; biodiversity and wildland preservation; alternative energy; engaged spirituality, literature and the arts; holistic and "ecological" medicine; ethno-botany; socially-responsible entrepreneurship and business; the environmental justice and women's movements; independent media, etc. Eco-Metropolis features the same diversity and range but focuses on New York City's environmental issues.
